“We help your dog enjoy more days and return to the activities they love! Specializing in IVDD, post op, carts, and more!”

IVDD

From one-on-one evaluations and treatments, to consultation for bowel and bladder
expression instruction (if needed), to any positioning and equipment related
needs, we want to make sure you feel comfortable and empowered in your pet’s daily care.

Other Conditions Treated

In addition to IVDD, we also often treat pets with:

-Arthritis/Senior Pet Needs

-Post-op Cranial Cruciate Surgeries

(TPLO, TTA, Extracapsular Repair)

-Conservative Care of Cranial Cruciate Injuries

-Hip Dysplasia

-Fibrocartilaginous Embolism (FCE)

Carts & Adaptive Equipment

We think of a properly selected and fitted cart, orthotic, prosthetic, splint, stroller, or other piece of equipment as “wearable therapy” and an amazing addition to help your pet in reaching goals and improving their quality of life. Click here to learn about how we can help.

How can we help?

We understand you might be wondering whether rehabilitation can help your pet. It's completely fine if you're not prepared to schedule a physical therapy appointment at this moment.

If you have questions, one of our physical therapists, Jeanine or Lisa, would be happy to talk to you and help in any way they can!

Why are we passionate about IVDD?

At Hope Chicagoland Pet Rehab, we understand how overwhelming it can feel when your pet has a diagnosis like IVDD (or other neurological conditions). Whether your dog has been newly diagnosed or has chronic IVDD, we can help with all stages including conservative care, post op rehab, lifestyle management, and equipment needs.

In addition to providing one on one canine rehabilitation treatments, our goal is to educate and support you in all areas that will impact your pet’s daily life including bladder and bowel expression and management, home set up, equipment recommendations, and more.

Our “hope” is to help you and your pet have many more enjoyable days ahead of you!

What is a

"Bridge Visit" ?

Maybe it’s your first night home after surgery or you opted for conservative care and crate rest. Now that you’re home you have so many questions. . . How do I hold my pet? What does crate rest mean? How can I help my pet get outside to potty? Or my dog hasn’t gone pee since we’ve been home. What do I do?

After hearing about this need time and again, we developed the “First Night Home” visit, which can be helpful to establish a new routine, navigate your home, and answer any questions you may have even BEFORE formal therapy begins.

This can be useful for all types of post-operative and conservative care (IVDD, neuro surgeries, any orthopedic surgeries including TPLO and other ACL surgeries).

TESTIMONIALS

What Our Clients Say

"A few words that describe Jeanine are knowledgeable, skilled, compassionate and trustworthy. For the past 5 years, Jeanine has not only worked with my foundation's shelter dogs but my personal dogs too. She is, also, the entrusted physical therapist for the Trio Animal Foundation's therapy dog team. Jeanine's innate ability to understand what a dog needs, both physically and emotionally, has made her an asset in their recovery and quality of life. Quite simply, Jeanine is a good person with a heart of gold. Anyone would be lucky to work with her".

-Sue

"When my 14-year-old Cairn terrier had a seizure and a stroke, my longtime vet said there really wasn’t anything they could do, and they suggested I prepare myself to say goodbye. Instead, I searched online and found Jeanine, who was kind enough to come the next day. As soon as my little Molly heard Jeanine‘s voice, she pulled herself out of her bed and went to greet her. During that session, Molly moved around and ate for the first time in days. Thanks to Jeanine, we had another full year with our sweet, happy and playful girl before she began to decline and we did have to say goodbye. Jeanine is a dog whisperer, compassionate and encouraging, and we are so grateful for the wonderful work she does".
